At ALGIDA's Çorlu facility, a recipe-based Cartesian robot system routes 4 ice cream box types into 3-unit blocks for the packaging machines.
Ice cream boxes are routed into 6-unit blocks for the packaging machines. Three different box types are picked up with the same gripper, with no tooling changeover required.
In this project carried out at ALGIDA’s Çorlu facility, 4 different ice cream box types arrive from the cooling tunnel in rows of 3 and are routed into blocks of 3 for the packaging machines. The previously existing system was removed and replaced with a system manufactured by INNOVAS. One of the system’s key features is that the time previously lost during product changeovers has been reduced to zero, since all box changeover parameters can now be handled through the recipe method.
Rather than conventional robot technology, INNOVAS partnered with Festo and Boschrexroth here to build and commission a Cartesian system driven by robotic automation. The system also includes a buffer to tolerate short stoppages.
